Day 20 - New food
Finally retrieved my last package from Exante after having to fork out a couple of hundred on Custom tax and various charges. Urgh...
After I unpacked everything, I realised Exante left out my chicken fajitas... all 21 packs of them. Not cool yo. They are probably sick of seeing my name on their email by now :รพ
Was pondering a bar before the meeting at the office but forgot to grab it on the way out (yet again), so stopped for an unsweetened iced tea at an eatery while doing my errands. Was pondering eating a lemon bar but decided since I'm at home, I should probably just make a soup and try one of the new ones.
Drink: Unsweetened iced tea
First meal: Exante's Tom Yum Soup (Future ref: TY soup)
This is probably the best soup of the whole lot, imo, the only one I did not add any pepper or tabasco to in order to eat it. It doesn't really taste like proper tom yum because it's creamy, and while there are creamy tom yums, that's due to santan (coconut milk) and not whatever they use in these soups. Still, am glad to find at least one soup that doesn't require seasoning.
Speaking of which, the rest of the bars are in the fridge, so I popped downstairs to get one. Finally something other than DChocB! I mean, I've grown fond of it, but I could use the variety.
Second meal: Exante's Lemon-flavoured meal replacement bar (Future ref: Lemon bar)
It's crunchy and lemony... pretty good, I'd say. It's also wider, longer but flatter than the DChocBar, probably coz this is a crunchy bar vs a chewy one? There's a thin layer of what looks like lemon frosting on the crunchy bits of the bar. I like the crunchy bits. Yeah, fine, oversimplistic review, whatever. It's like eating lemon-flavoured not-quite rice krispies? Make of that what you will.
Third meal: Exante's Peri Peri Chicken (Future ref: Peri2 chicken)
Another new meal, and this one makes me sad that I have so many TDins and SPies to go through when I could've gotten more of this, but on the other hand, this is slightly pricier as well. Taste-wise, it's great, doesn't really need any seasoning other than black pepper if you're inclined. The white bits look like grains of rice though, and I'm not entirely sure if it will give me indigestion. I guess we'll find out soon enough...
Doesn't seem like I'm going through any bad indigestion atm... so I guess I'm good?
