The basics

Not getting any younger, so time to shed some of the extra weight I've been carrying around for years. Never been very motivated and am super laidback and sedentary, but it's time for a change. Why now? Who knows... but this time, I'm the one who wants to do it and am investing a fair bit into Exante's very low calorie diet (VLCD) meal replacement products. I just wanted to take the thinking out of eating, I guess. Most days, I eat whatever is easiest, whether it's delivery, asking my housemate to buy me food, making instant noodles or the occasional sandwiches, wraps or toast. It's all over the place, and the fact that I spend so much time in front of the computer for work, movies, games and books doesn't help, obviously.

So, I've bought about 12 weeks or so worth of products to start with and will be taking 3 to 4 meals a day (at roughly 200+ kcal/meal), which will add up to about 600+ or 800+. This also means I have to fix my really insane sleep schedule... it's a work in progress. This blog will be used to record the results for my own record.

Will be using both Fitbit and MyFitnessPal to log food, though I have to say it's rather hard to find certain items (food and drinks) on those two apps. Electronic scale will be arriving soon but the old scale says I'm at 105kg (231lb) at the moment. BMI calculator says it's 42.2, which is well... morbidly obese. Let's work on that.

Will need to buy a measuring tape to get my measurements too. Before pics taken and saved for future comparisons. Exante's packages have been sent out, but it may take a week or two to arrive, so am guessing I may only be able to start the programme in November and will be doing it over Christmas, New Year and Chinese New Year. Oh well. Must harness my willpower to stick to the plan.
